Frequently Asked Questions

How Ezi is a Mecano Kit Home? Click here to see how easy it is to put together a Mecano Kit Home.
How can Mecano be so affordable in comparison to other companies?  We offer lower prices because we manufacture our own product using steel coils. We concentrate on selling our standard designs, so that we can keep our costs to a minimum, and pass the savings on to our customers.

I don't want to do any building myself. No problem, you don't need to, you simply attend a 2 day course to receive your owner builders license. Then become the "project manager" and designate the work to your builder.
Do the Kits you offer include all the materials needed to build to Lock-up stage? Yes. All Materials are supplied for completion to lockup stage, you simply supply the labour and a concrete slab or choose one of our optional steel floor systems.
What is involved in being an Owner Builder? You need to pay a small fee and attend a course (usually run over a weekend) or via correspondence to obtain your Owner Builder License. You can take the option to have your frames and trusses pre-assembled ready for quick erection, or you can find a local builder who can bring the project to Lockup Stage for you, leaving you to finish off the interior (you will still need to have an owner builder license).
Can you offer your kits with Cyclone Ratings? Yes, we can build to all australian Cyclone Zones. There is a small additional charge to upgrade from our standard W41 Rating to a W50.
How many $$$ will I save? Building your own home will significantly reduce your building costs - normally by about 30% depending on how resourceful you are in finding keenly priced items to complete your home and how much work you do yourself.
